Welcome to Pinehurst Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic, the premier Small Animal Veterinary Hospital, boarding and dog daycare facility serving Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Whispering Pines, Aberdeen, and Vass NC. Our 4 amazing veterinarians are available in your neighborhood to care for your beloved dog or cat and guide you on their well-being. Our services include comprenhensive veterinary care from the first pediatric/ puppy visit through the senior stages of your dog or cat's life, emphasizing client education, preventative care, dental care and surgery. We want to help your pets live the longest and healthiest lives possible. We love being a part of the Sandhills community of animal lovers, and believe in leaving a small footprint on the earth — and huge paw prints in your hearts.
Pinehurst Animal Hospital provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external veterinary laboratories. We also work closely with local specialty veterinary practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. Our Veterinary facility in Pinehurst includes a well stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, in-house ultrasound, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor climate controlled boarding kennels and runs with several large exercise yards. Our special feline boarders are housed in their own area of the hospital away from all dogs.
At Pinehurst Animal Hospital we strive to not only offer sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she is not feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friends happy and healthy.
Convenient Location
Pinehurst Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic is conveniently located off of Midland road 1 mile from the traffic circle overlooking the beautiful Longleaf Golf Course and across from Mid South Golf Club. Our location is perfect for people living in Southern Pines, Whispering Pines, Pinehurst, and Aberdeen NC.
Our practice is on Doctor Neal Rd off of Midland road. We are located very near Carolina Eye and Ironwood Cafe. We are only minutes from First Health Moore Regional Hospital and the shopping in Pinehurst and Southern Pines NC. Look for the Sign on Midland road or give us a call if you need assistance.

Dr Tony Ioppolo, a well known local veterinarian, bought Pinehurst Animal Hospital in Southern Pines after the practice he worked in was sold to Banfield, a large corporation. He knew that his beloved clients and all the pets of the Southern Pines and Pinehurst area deserved personalized, local, hands on care that cannot be given by a corporation. Dr Dana may have the same last name as Dr Pamela Means, but their is no relation. Dr Dana Means will go by Dr Dana and Dr Pamela Means will continue to go by Dr Means.

Dental Cleanings
The professional dentistry services at Pinehurst Animal Hospital are designed for your pet's oral health. We offer both routine preventative care to remove plaque and tartar, as well as advanced treatments for existing oral conditions along with modern digital dental radiography. we have you covered whether you’re stopping in for an annual dental exam and cleaning, or your pet needs more advanced dental procedures. Dental services include the use of a safe anesthetic and constant monitoring to ensure patient safety. We perform dentals Monday- Friday.
